===+++=== 19/12/2001 ===+++===
I think that this will be the last update of 2001. This time around, I have added the Brace For Impact
listings that appear in Gothic Mag, in the Additional Rules section, organised by New and Experimental
rules, as well as by general and race specific rules. This should mean that you are able to keep track
of exactly which rules apply to your game quickly and easily. I have also expanded the links on this
front page a little, to give a bit more detail.
2001 has seen this site grow from an idea that I had to make my lists and army profiles available anywhere
as I move around, into a growing site. I would say that www.epic40k.co.uk is no longer an infant site. While
not yet fully developed, a structure has emerged and all that remains is to add content here and there.
Overall, I am happy with the way that things are going. The coming year holds hopefully great things for the
site, including a relocation to a new server. I will get around to a promised Battle Report as soon as I can,
and hopefully over the Christmas holiday I will get time to play at least one more to write up and add. I
will also try to find the time to write a few more pieces for the site. However, dont let that stop you
from adding something of your own. Feel free to type up anything you like for this place, and hopefully
we will have a whole load of extra bits to add to the next update. Keep sending in your details for the
Player Index, and I will deal with them all when I return in the beginning of January. While I may not
be around for email, I will keep checking in at the EpiComms Forum, so pop in and leave a message. Have
a great Christmas and all the best for 2002. I hope that it will be a great year for this site.

I have added the 'official' rules status from the latest Epic Mag (Issue 6), now in the Additional
Rules section here. I thought that this may make things easier for you players. I have organised it
by new and experimental rules, as well as those rules which apply generally and those which only
apply to certain races in the game. This should mean that it is easier to find exactly which
rules apply to you and your game quickly. I hope to keep this up to date so that you always know what
you need to easily.
Also this update, I have added a shot of a fantastic Chaos Gothic Battle Group from Khyron in the
Showcase section, including a flagship that is so large that I dont know how it stays on the base. The
Players Index, in the Battle Group section, is growing slowly, but I still need a lot more people to
submit their details and make this work. And, as always, the forum (EpiComms) is still around, so feel
free to drop by and leave a message. Thanx.
===+++=== 23/11/2001 ===+++===
Another set of updates fairly quickly! I am obviously getting too much spare time. Anyway, there may be a longer
wait for a while, as I am going to finally get round to that battle report that I mentioned a while ago, and it
looks like it will take a bit of work. So, bear with me.
This time, I have been trawling the Fanatic, Games Workshop and Armageddon web pages. I think that I have located
all of the relevant pages, and have set links from here, in the Additional Rules section, so that you are able
to find all that you need from a single page. If I have missed anything then please let me know. I have also
added links to two great sites, Port Maw is back up and running (horray!), and Dark Millennia has an extremely
useful 40K Galaxy map, amongst other things.
Aside from another title graphic in the Scenarios section, I have decided to set a trial of my Players Index,
in the Battle Groups area of this site. Little more than a list of areas and email addresses at present, I hope that
it will grow to become a very useful addition. Send in your details and if you want a game or are visiting
a new area, check it out to see if there is anyone near by who would like to face you. Anyway, it will start
life as a simple list, and may grow into something more high-tech if it takes off. Try it out, and please
consider sending in your details as it will need a fair number of people to make it worthwhile. Thanx.
UPDATE <27.11.2001>: Sorry about the recent site problems, the server almost blew up! Hopefully the problems
should be sorted out now, but if there are any more weekends like that then I will move the site to a more reliable
host. Anyway, I have persuaded Fracas to send me a couple of pictures of his Battlefleet Gothic ships,
and so these are now included in the Showcase. I have also reorganised the Showcase slightly. I dont want these
pages to get too large, so I have split the Gothic ships into a seperate section. The newest six pictures will stay
on the main page, so you will always get to see the new models easily, and there is a link to the rest. Models
will be put here when new images are sent in. This should keep download times to a sensible limit.
UPDATE <29.11.2001>: After all of the Server problems that I have been having lately, we have moved (and if you are
reading this then it went well). This is a temporary relocation and there will probably be another, more
perminant move after Christmas. Hopefully, things will be more stable now, except that the Server may be taken
down on Tuesdays, around 6pm British Standard Time for around an hour, for routine work. Thanx.
===+++=== 16/11/2001 ===+++===
After such a long wait for an update last time, this one has come around fairly quickly - and
that is why I dont set update days, I am unlikely to stick to them! Anyway, added to the site
now are title graphics for two more sections - the Library and Battle Groups. I am slowly working
around this place and trying to improve the way that it looks, but I dont want to neglect other
things while doing it, so it will progress gradually.
Also added, is a link from the Ignorant Armies guys. There is now a section for your clubs and gaming
groups, so feel free to send in links to your web pages. Also, I have added Epic rules for using Recon
units and orbital barrages for your games, and most races. Check it out and let me know what you think.
As always, the forum (EpiComms) is still around, but under-used. I know that you are out there, so leave
a message or stick around for a chat. Thanx.
UPDATE <19.11.2001>: I have also added a graphic for the 'Additional Rules' title.
===+++=== 12/11/2001 ===+++===
Just a very small update this time, and if you have not noticed the cool new graphic then shame on you!
More graphics will, hopefully, follow soon. I want to add a bit of colour without stealing images, so I
have been playing around with some ideas. I have also been busy tweaking the forum - colours, organisation,
etc. Please, check it out, register and leave a message or two so that I know how many people are put there.
I will try to get another update done as soon as I can. See ya.
===+++=== 23/10/2001 ===+++===
Well, I guess that it had to happen. I must admit that getting a forum for this site was never really
something that I was determined about. However, I decided that I needed a way to get some feedback
and chat with people about the games that we play and this site in general. After looking around for
a few days I found a good web forum host. Please note that this is the first generation of the forum,
and things may change. But, this is the way that it will be for a good few months, and if things work
OK then it will stay that way. Anyway, please check out the EpiComms forum atthe link at the bottom
of this page and leave a message. Thanx.
===+++=== 18/10/2001 ===+++===
I have returned from my brief holiday, but while away I did not forget this site. While there have
been no major additions here, I have been looking at things and generally tidying up a bit. Firstly,
the more astute of you will already have noticed that the front page has gone. This was always a
temporary page while I got the site more established, and I know that people dont normally like the
extra time waiting for a title page to load. (This may also be a good time to note that the 'minimalist'
style of these pages is deliberate. I am aware that people do use 56K modems and so I have tried to keep
everything as fast loading as I can.)
I have also moved around the categories on this page and made the areas better defined. I have added
text (which should should show up at the bottom of your screen/browser) stating what each of the sections
deals with - this should appear as you run the mouse pointer over the link. I have also got rid of the old
holding pages for the sections that are not yet available, and instead put up an 'empty menu' page, as at least
this shows you what will be there, and what I am particularly looking for from you lot.
Over the last few weeks, I have been looking at the rules for Aspect Warriors, and I have updated and modified
these, and I have put up the first of my short pieces of fiction in the Library. While away, I even managed to
make time to have a game of Gothic, so a battle report should appear here in the near future. Let me know what
you think of all the changes and additions here, and I am still looking for feedback on my Epic Genestealer
Cult Army List, in the Rules section. Thanx.
UPDATE <20/10/2001>: I have added a couple of cool pictures in the 40K gallery, sent to me by Sheldon. Check
them out.
===+++=== 19/09/2001 ===+++===
Well, it is finally here. For the last three months, I have been in various stages of constructing
my Genestealer Cult army list for Epic, and now it is done! (In 'Additional Rules'.) So, although
it has been a few weeks since the last update, I have not forgotten about this site, and this is
probably the most work that I have done on it for a while. Anyway, the army list speaks for itself
really. Give it a look, and feel free to email me and let me know what you think of it. I guess that
the next step is to get some pictures up of the units and models that I will use in the army. Although
I have no idea when that will be.
There may also be a brief break for me, and so no updates for another couple of weeks as I take a bit
of a holiday and a rest away from the stress of it all! But, I still have email, so get in touch. And,
as I write this I should add my best wishes to the vicims, families and friends of all those caught
in all four of last weeks incidents in the US. Most of the World mourns with you.
===+++=== 27/08/2001 ===+++===
A fairly minor update, although it has only been a few days since the last one, so I am actually
getting better! I have added two Showcase images, and the areas needed to accommodate them. There is
still plenty of room for pictures of your models around here, so send them in. Thanx.
===+++=== 22/08/2001 ===+++===
Well, I did say that it would be a while until I got round to an update. I cant believe that was a month ago!
I hope that things will progress fairly quickly now. I have a few ideas up my sleeve, including the recently
neglected Epic side to this site. Epic fans keep watching this space. I have found that the best way to work
on this is to take it home and use my own, humble PC. All the while trying to convince my girlfriend that I
am actually doing 'real world' work. We will see how long it lasts.
A couple of updates this time. The BFG rules for launching and then sheltering Attack Craft seemed to grow from the
small section that I had given them and the more I thought about it the more I decided that they needed a whole
section of their own. So, they got one. I have also added the rules and stats for a new class of Battleship.
The Anguish class is a Desolator variant, with launch bays and a serious number of lances. As always, gives these
a try and let me know what you think of them. And, any Gallery pictures would be welcomed. Feel free to drop me
an email about anything on this site.
===+++=== 11/07/2001 ===+++===
I have returned! Just a couple of smaller updates for now - in the 'additional rules' section. I am
reasonably close to finishing that section off now, and then I will be able to move on to something new.
As ever, I am asking for pictures of miniatures for the gallery section - so send them to me as soon as you
can. Work looks like it will be getting fairly crazy for a week or two, so I expect progress to be slow. However,
the Summer holds potential to really get stuff done. If there are any comments, or you just want to let me know
that there is life out there, feel free to drop me an email.
===+++=== 08/06/2001 ===+++===
Well, due to popular demand (I got an email! Hi Paul.) I have put the Miniature Showcase to the front
of the development list. The first few pictures are now up and I am asking you to send in any more
that you would like displayed. They dont have to be the best painted ever but if you have anything that
you would like to see here then send in pictures (preferably 640 x 480). Also, I wont put up your email
address unless you specifically ask me to. So, what are you waiting for?
UPDATE <17/06/2001>: I am going away for about two weeks - so there will be the same lack of development on the
site, but I will have a better excuse for it. I am leaving the good old UK to go to the States. Wish me luck and
see you when I get back.
===+++=== 28/05/2001 ===+++===
Another long wait for an update. What can I say except sorry. Anyway, I will try to
get things moving faster. Keep checking and let me know that you are out there.
===+++=== 02/05/2001 ===+++===
I have finally put up the Epic rules which are completed. There are a lot more waiting
in the wings, but I will move onto other things (Gothic rules) and come back to them later.
Thanks for visiting. I know that there is still a lot that needs to be done with this
site - but it is getting there slowly.
===+++=== 26/04/2001 ===+++===
I have added advanced transport rules in Epic to the rules for Eldar Aspect
Warriors. As always, feel free to give them a try and let me know what you
think.
===+++=== 23/04/2001 ===+++===
Well, it has been a little while since the last update, I have been a bit busy. But, I dont
even believe that anyone reads this! Anyway, I have finally done the rules for Epic Eldar
Aspect Warriors. This means that all of the links below this should now actually go somewhere!
I will keep working on the other Additional Rules and then start on the links up there. Feel
free to get in touch and let me know what you think. Thanx.
===+++=== 08/04/2001 ===+++===
Welcome to www.epic40k.co.uk - The Message Board page is now up and in its first
version. I am sure that things will change over time, but I am just trying to get as
much material on line as I can right now, so please check it out. Feel free to
email me with any comments, questions, suggestions or submissions. Thanx.
===+++=== 05/04/2001 ===+++===
Welcome to www.epic40k.co.uk - these pages are being constructed as quickly
as possible. Please feel free to email me with any suggestions or comments, or
to send me anything which you feel could be put up under one of the existing
categories. These pages will initially deal primarily with Games Workshops Epic
40 000 and Battlefleet Gothic games, but any others games will be covered if I have
the material. So, drop me an email to say hi, and let me know how you found these
pages. Thanx.
