The Adeptus Sororitas

The Order of the Argent Shroud maintained a unit of the Orders Militant on the civilized world of Minerva for more than four millennia tasked by the Eccliarchy with supporting and defending the Philanthropies Abbey. When the sector was invaded by Ork marauders in 261.M41, this unit was pivotal in not only repelling the initial onslaught, but the ships of the Eccliarchy tasked with supporting the Battle Sisters acted with great bravery at dear cost to defend the neighboring worlds of the sub-sector until reinforcements arrived in the form of the Celebrants Space Marines. It was this great sacrifice that forever enshrined the Sisters of Philanthropies Abbey in the memories of the untold billions of human lives that remained forever in their debt.

The forces of the Adepta Sororitas are fanatical defenders of the purity of mankind and remain the most unwavering bastions of faith in the Emperor in the galaxy. Not typically suited for general engagements and campaigns, they nonetheless provide a dependable supporting force that will in close quarters fight with the bravery and zeal of even the most ardent warriors of the Space Marines. Using only Space Marine rapid strike cruisers (not escorts or battle barges) in squadrons of two to four ships, these defenders of the Emperor follow Space Marine rules for fleet engagements but do not have Terminator boarding parties. They do however follow Space Marine leadership rules and gain +1 in boarding actions, and their rapid strike cruisers are equipped exclusively with Thunderhawk gunships just as are Space Marine vessels. Their ships are highly automated and are manned by fanatically loyal subjects of the Eccliarchy under direct authority of the Adeptus Terra, and ships attempting to board these vessels suffer a –1 modifier. Constantly drilling in close-quarter formation battle drills, these ships do not need to roll for Come to New Heading special orders, but weapons effectiveness is still affected by doing so normally and they cannot undergo any other special orders in the same turn including Brace for Impact. Their fanaticism, fearlessness and zeal are renowned throughout the Imperium, and they suffer a –1 modifier when attempting to disengage, and they cannot take a leadership test to fire on any enemy ship besides the closest one(s). In a campaign when rolling for Space Marine reinforcements at the end of a battle, they can substitute for Space Marines in any case except when the dice roll against the Space Marines table results in the use of a Battle Barge or embarked Terminators. Imperial ships with embarked Battle Sister units will have their crews given extensive training and indoctrination by their Canoness or Veteran Sister Superior, and they gain all benefits and drawbacks afforded to the ships of the Adepta Sororitas listed above.
