Its your opportunity to to dust off and finish off those works in progress, forecast projects, and good ideas and get stuck back into your Epic models!

Can you think of a better way of gearing yourself up for the release of Epic Armageddon later this year and the model range?? We couldn’t either! The other objectives of the competition are to:
  • Have fun and inspire some painting, modelling and converting. This includes the sharing of tips and techniques as the competition progresses.
  • Generate a large gallery of all the entries for the enjoyment of all.
  • For a lucky few to bask in the victorious glory of the forum's admiration and enjoy whatever prizes we can conjure up!!

2003 Epic Painting Competition Rules

The following competition rules will apply throughout the competition:

Categories:

All entires must conform to one of the following categories:

1 - Epic Battleforce - Defined as a grouping of complete units (under any rules version) that must contain vehicles, infantry and optionally one large model (up to 3 superheavy vehicles may be included if they are fielded in such units eg Baneblade Superheavy Tanks).
2 - Single titan.
3 - Single unit - May be a single figure or tank, or a single unit comprising of up to 2 infantry stands and/or vehicles.
4 - Terrain.
5 - Open Category - Custom free-for-all, includes dioramas/battlescenes.

Entry Conditions:
  • You can enter as many times as you like in as many categories as you like, but an entry may only be entered for a single category.
  • The entry has to have been completed in the last year, OR has not previously been seen/photographed before. Thus you can photograph and enter stuff from your group that hasn’t been published before. This then fullfills the objective of getting pics of people's stuff! You are on your honour to comply with this one but any entires not complying will be removed from the competition.
  • You will retain all copyright etc for your pics, but by submitting your entry you are authorising the pics to be used in the Competition Gallery. Selected entires will be requested for permission to use their pics in the permanent forum gallery.
  • While you can enter as many categories as you like (and are encouraged to do so), you can only win one prize. People entering multiple categories should provide a list of preferences they would like their models to be considered for. You can email epicomp2003@epic40k.co.uk to provide a list, or you will be contacted (by either Private Message in the forums or via email). If you do not provide an order of preference by the close of the competition, the default order will be that in which you submitted the entries.
Submission Procedure:

1 - Paint your miniatures!
2 - Take a digital picture of your entry (note that Dafrca has kindly offered a scanning service for those without access to a Digital Camera).
3 - Go to the Competition Thread (there is a link at the bottom of this page) and open up the post for the category you wish to enter. Reply to that post with your details, a brief details of the mini and add your pic(s) as an attachment. Please create a new post for each entry.
4 - The moderators will check to see that your entry fits the criteria for that category and that all necessary information has been provided.
5 - Within a few days, your picture(s) will be uploaded into the Competition Gallery under the relevant section for all to see and admire!

Dates:
  • All entires to be submitted by 31st October 2003. After this time there will be no further entires (although if you have a good reason let me know and I may consider it).
  • Public Voting to be conducted between 1st - 30th November 2003 (voting method TBA).
  • Winners will be announced on 1st December 2003.
Picture Galery:

As one of the objectives of the competition is to promote modelling and conversion discussion, a separate thread has been established within the EpiComms Forum. Feel free to ask questions, show off your WIP etc there. Updates and news will be published there also. In addition, entires will be compiled into a seperate gallery to make viewing easier.
