Once again, the Glorious managed to reload her launch bays. This time, the Furious followed suit - however, she
rolled a double and Tim was forced to use one of his fleet rerolls, the new result allowing the Furious to reload
safely. However, the Courageous failed her reload order and Tim was understandably unwilling to expend both fleet
rerolls in the same turn.
Again, the fleet pushed steadily forward, with the carriers executing another turn to Port, while one of the Cobra
squadrons checked their direction so as not to take them out of play.
Once again, both the Glorious and the Furious launched a wave of bombers each and these joined the ever growing
numbers around the ships. By this time, the sheer number of bomber counters was starting to seriously worry me, but I
had little choice except to press on with the attack and trust to my one Devastation carrier and my turrets to see me
through. A delay or change of tactics at this point would just make matters a lot worse, but I was worried that my
advance group would simply disappear under the weight of the attack craft. My one consolation was that escorts are
actually one of the hardiest ships against bombers, since they are targeted by ship and can soak them up. Additionally,
my Idolators have two turrets each, making them one of the best ships in the game to tackle ordnance.

With the attack craft building rapidly at the other end of the table, I needed a counter method, and when I succeeded
the reload roll for the Sariel, but with a double, I was forced to use my only reroll to keep it in the game. Thankfully,
my normal luck stayed away and I passed the reroll with no problems.
The Chaos fleet pushed forward, and the Sariel once again released a wave of four fighters, which hung behind
the advance group in order to provide some measure of protection.

The tension was mounting on the bridge, and Johanson cursed his post as he was left with relatively little
to occupy him. It was ironic that the damage control officer was the one who was a passenger on the ship,
until things got tough, and then they were the only one who was not strapped in!
On the tactial display, the two sets of icons approached each other gradually and through the external monitors
Johanson could make out the graceful form of the two massive carriers flanking the Furious. Out the main
observation window, the dorsal turrets tracked unseen attackers as the crews fought off their apprehension and
checked their defences. Johanson envied them, they could take a role in the conflict. They had a sense of direction
and an ability to actually be a master of their own fate. Meanwhile, the bomber pilots practised runs across the
decks of the Furious, checking approach angles and formations, and the turret defences tracked them in a
pantomime of future events.
