Battle Report Epic Armageddon
Ancient Hatred Renewed
|
Details
Armies: Crimson Fists vs. Chaos Space Marines
Points: 3700
Notes: This game was played using a demo edition of the Epic Armageddon rules. There may be some inconsistencies
when compared to the current edition.
|
Imperial Turn One
Crimson Fists march onto the battlefield:
- Land Speeders (right-bottom) secure an objective
- Devastators (center-left) take cover in the fortified bunkers
- Terminators (left-top) in Land Raiders go up the right flank followed by Tactical detachemnt #1 and
a Land Raider Detachment
- A Reaver and Tactical detachment #2 (center) go up the center on the road in support of the Devastators
- Whirlwinds (center-right) take cover behind the hill
- Assault Marines (right-top) fail their command roll and are left behind with a BM and a pitiful 30cm
holding action move
|
Chaos Turn One
Same as above, but the view is from behind, and the forces of Chaos are visible in the background:
- Chaos Terminators and a heavily mutated and warped Reaver Battle Titan (top-right)
- Chaos Land Speeders (top-center-right)
- Chaos Space Marine Tactical detachment #1 and Noise Marines (Devastators) (center-top) move
down the road into the ruined city
- Chaos Space Marine Tactical detachment #2 (center-top-left) skirt the edge of the ruined city
- The Raptors (Assault marines) are in amongst the ruins of the city (very difficult to see and
partially obscured by the ruins)
- Chaos Deathdealers (Whirlwinds) (top-left) advance behind the fortified bunker
|
Imperial Turn Two
- The combined weight of fire from the Noise Marines and Chaos SM tactical detachment #1 has forced
the Devastators to withdraw from the fortified bunkers on the edge of the ruined city (in the early
games we kept forgetting to implement the -1 “Target in Cover” shooting modifier!)
- However, SM tactical detachment #2 has reoccupied the fortified bunkers
- Meanwhile, long range fire from the Reaver inflicts some casualties on the Chaos Terminators and
Land Raiders advancing up the right flank, but not before they had completely detroyed the Crimson
Fists Land Raider detachment (ouch!)
|
Chaos Turn Two
As above, but from the Chaos point of view:
- The Marine Land Speeders can be seen approaching the ruined city from the left flank
|
Conclusion
We both surpassed the VP total needed to win the game at the end of the turn, but I had more; thus a minor
Imperial victory. However, this was before we knew that we had to recalculate the VP’s from 0 at the end of
each turn.
